Pace of play is being closely monitored by the Match Committee. It is expected that rounds will take 4 hours 20 mins or less. To achieve this we need those choosing to book early to play significantly faster to set the pace of play for the rest of the field. Recent competition time sheets show some groups are falling one or two holes behind. Aim to keep up with the group ahead, AND not just ahead of the group behind.
Please book later in the field if you can’t keep the pace of play to the Club’s expectations.
Pace of Play Tips:
- Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled tee-off time
• Move briskly to your ball between shots, don’t wait in a group for each to hit
• Shorter hitters play first from the tee or fairway if longer hitters have to wait
• Hit your shot before helping someone to look for a lost ball. Maximum time of 3 minutes for a lost ball
• Assess your putt or distance of shot while your playing partner is executing their shot
• Putt out even if you are standing close to someone’s line
• If falling behind, the first two players to have completed the hole should proceed to the next tee and be ready to play instead of waiting for all players to putt out
• Score after hitting off from the next tee, not while walking off the green
• Place your bag, buggy or cart to the side of the green closest to the next tee
• Consider calling up on Par 3’s on the 2nd, 6th and 8th if the next tee is occupied
• Limit your number of practice swings
• Enjoy your social time after the 18th hole.
