It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that we announce the departure of our Operations Manager, Simon King.
Simon has been the driving force behind numerous successful projects at the MVCG, and we can’t thank him enough for the time and effort he put into this Club. Over the years, he has been the go-to man for members and has built friendships with many, who will be just as sad as we are to see him go. We wish him all the best and hope that he comes to say ‘hi’ regularly.
Who better to tell you about his career and where he is going than Simon himself.
‘In my 9 years of employment here at Mona Vale Golf Club I have been very blessed to be involved in a number of projects and events that have helped shape this friendly club of ours.
From my time as the Bar Manager creating a new wine list and being able to host multiple wine dinners, to being the Food & Beverage manager and coordinating the Club’s 90th Gala dinner. As the Operations Manager I have enjoyed collaborating on our Club app, bringing in MiScore during Covid, installing our new POS system and membership system, and the wonderful success of the Get into Golf programs.
All of these projects have helped my understanding of this industry and whet my appetite for new challenges and so after surviving Covid and a lengthy renovation period at MVGC, I have decided to explore a new opportunity at Cromer Golf Club as their Operations Manager.
I am very thankful to Andy, the Board, and members who have welcomed me and supported me in my time here. I look forward to catching up with all of you over my next 4 weeks here and perhaps get a game in as well!’
