Club Championships

The first qualifying round for both men and women start next week!
 Please ensure you read the information below regarding qualifying for this Stroke play event to guarantee you don’t miss your opportunity to become Mona Vale Golf Club’s Club Champion. 

There will be two qualifying Stroke rounds before the top 8 women in each grade, and top 8 + ties for the men’s grades, advance to the final 2 rounds of Stroke play.

To qualify you MUST:

1)      Write your name on the Registration sheet located in the Pro Shop on the day of the first qualifying round.

2)       MiScore can be used by you and your partner, the scores must be cross-checked hole by hole, confirmed, and signed by yourself and your marker.

3)      For men you must have played 10 handicapped rounds at this Club or have a valid Away handicap from another club in which your score history must have 10 handicapped rounds. The same applies to women but for 5 handicapped rounds.

Note: The Match Committee and the Board take these major championships very seriously. Please make sure you are eligible and available to participate in all dates of the event before registering to qualify.

If you register and then qualify and subsequently fail to show up for the next stages of the event, you will be asked to explain your non-attendance to the Club Captain/ Women’s Captain and the Match Committee.

Women’s Club Championships – Best 8 to qualify for Club, B & C Grades

Stroke play qualifying rounds on Thursday 26th September & Thursday 3rd October
Final Stroke rounds on Thursday 10th October & Thursday 17th October

Men’s Club Championships – Best 8 to qualify for Club, A Reserve, B & C Grades

Stroke play qualifying rounds on Saturday 28th September & Saturday 5th October
Final Stroke rounds on Saturday 12th October & Saturday 19th October 

Rounds 3 & 4 will be seeded in grades and played at the end of the field. Presentation to follow the final round.

The Men’s Senior and Junior Championships will be decided by the aggregate score of the 2 qualifying rounds.

Please note: The Match Committee has updated the qualification criteria to include the top 8 players plus ties. This adjustment aims to make the event more competitive and also helps us better manage our timesheets by reserving fewer spots each week. Hopefully this improvement will better our Club Championship event going forward.
