A fantastic showing from Mona Vale Golf Club at the Barrenjoey Women’s Classic!
Last week, 45 Mona Vale women members competed in individual, foursomes, and team events across six local golf courses. Despite the huge storm on Monday and some blustery conditions at Long Reef and Cromer on Thursday, the weather was kind overall.
And MVGC had some outstanding results:
Division 3 Stableford Competition (9 holes due to the storm):
First Place – Ros Cluning
Fourth Place – Liz Vincent
Division 2 Stroke, Net (9 holes due to the storm):
Second Place – Janet Dunn
Third Place – Liz Clarke
Team Events:
At Cromer: 1st place – Raina Laughton, Allison Hansen, Michele Blagg and Ros Black
At Wakehurst: 1st place – Ros Cluning, Kelly Densmore, Susan Walters and Vanessa Orr
In addition to the fantastic golf, an impressive $13,944.30 for “Women and Children First” was raised, with Mona Vale selling the most raffle tickets! A big thank you to Karen Tattersall, Doreen Cruickshank and Selina Pyle for their incredible efforts in keeping both Monday and Thursday’s events running seamlessly. The Club is very grateful to our fellow members for their support and enthusiasm.
